The Dixie Swim Club

It's time for another Southern comedy from the comedy writing trio Jones, Hope, and Wooten. If you liked Christmas Belles and Mama Won't Fly, you'll love The Dixie Swim Club.

Five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other's lives. The Dixie Swim Club focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years.

As their lives unfold and the years pass, these women increasingly rely on one another, through advice and raucous repartee, to get through the challenges (men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, aging) that life flings at them. And when fate throws a wrench into one of their lives in the second act, these friends, proving the enduring power of 'teamwork', rally 'round their own with the strength and love that takes this comedy in a poignant and surprising direction. 'The Dixie Swim Club' is the story of these five unforgettable women - a hilarious and touching comedy about friendships that last forever.

Performance dates for this comedy are Sept 5-21, 2014!

The Little Mermaid

Join CYT for a journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr., adapted from Disney's 2008 Broadway production. In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home - and her fins - behind and live in the world above. But first she'll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the eveil sea witch Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.

Written to flow seamlessly between land and sea, Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. provides plenty of opportunities to bring these locations to life through creative movement and configurations. The fantasy of being underwater means the cast can let their imaginations run wild.

Performance dates for this musical are Sept 26-28, 2014!

Aladdin

For Aladdin it's not easy to find a magic lamp but it's even harder to get a date! It's a swirling sandstorm of famous Arabian Tales from Ali Baba to Scheherazade and even Sinbad the Sailor as Aladdin journeys to find a magic lamp in a cave of (not-so-great) wonders. Along his way Aladdin seeks answers and advice from wise genies, a powerful sultan and even his own mother to find a way to meet the princess. However, even with the lamp in hand, Aladdin will have to learn that it takes more than a wish to make a good impression!

Auditions will be on September 29, 2014 at 4:30 PM. All Missoula Children's Theatre shows are designed for students Kindergarten through 12th grade. There are roles especially suited for all ages, skill levels and experience levels. Performance dates for this show are October 4, 2014 at 7 PM!

TG Sheppard and Kelly Lang

Even though TG Sheppard and Kelly Lang have been married since 2007, they have continued to work separately despite their fans' requests until the debut of their duets record. With the release of "Iconic Duets" -- a collection that features their take on many timeless collaborations, such as "Jackson" and "Golden Ring," they have fulfilled their fans' request.

Lang felt the time was right for the duets project. "People have asked us to record or to sing together, and we put it off. I didn't want people to think that's all we did. I wanted to establish some music on my own."

In addition to his solos, Sheppard indicates that recording a duet is very different. "It's more difficult than I thought it would be. When you're doing an album on your own, you only have to worry about one individual." Sheppard indicated he had a blast recording with his wife.

See TG Sheppard and Kelly Lang at the Crighton on October 17, 2014.
